How solar works
A solar power system converts the sun’s energy into electricity that is available for use in your home and in the wider grid network.
Solar panels generate DC electricity which must be converted to AC electricity by the Inverter, after which it can be used directly in your house.
Excess electricity is fed back to the grid via your Switchboard.
A battery storage system allows excess electricity to be stored during daylight hours for use overnight. It minimises the amount of electricity fed back to the grid, and also provides power to your home in the event of a blackout.
A hot water system timer allows your hot water cylinder to store energy as heat, effectively becoming a battery at a fraction of the cost.
